The sister of Trade-minister-designate Alan Kyerematen, who was involved in the La gas explosion has died.
Accra-based Starr FM quotes a family source as confirming that Brigitte Kyerematen–Darko died Wednesday morning. Her death brings to 12 the number of casualties in the explosion, which occurred in December last year.
She was married to one Mr. Darko of GC-Net.
The explosion occurred when the machine emptying gas into the containers on site caught fire and lighted the electric cables close to the gas station.
The Fire Service’s preliminary investigations into the incident confirmed that the explosion was caused by ‘irresponsible human error’.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo while announicing the list of ministerial nominees at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday said his nomination for Trades and Industry Ministry could not turn up for the meeting because he was attending to the sister who was a victim of the explosion.
